Black key improv

One of my favorite interventions to do during a session, especially for some of my older clients (teenagers and up), is to allow them to create their own piece on the piano. ¬†One of the best ways to set them up for success is to instruct them to just use the black keys: that way, there is truly no “wrong” answer, as the notes all work well together!
