Hands in your lap, not on your toes! :)
We address many different goals in music therapy (i.e. motor skills, speech, cognition, etc.) and one common goal on which several of my current clients are working involves recognizing and practicing classroom appropriate behaviors.
Under the umbrella of this goal area, our objectives might include (depending on the client’s greatest area(s) of need): listening, following directions, sitting in one spot for at least 30 seconds or more, and…the one I’ll zone in on for this blog post: “quiet” hands // keeping your hands to yourself and not in your nose, on your toes, etc.
