Need some inspiration on-the-go?
I’ve found that, due to the nature of being a traveling music therapist, I:
1. Have lots of time in the car, going from one client’s house to the next
2. Don’t really want to listen to music in an already-musically-saturated day.
Therefore, I’ve become a HUGE fan of podcasts. Podcasts for well-being, a laugh or two, and podcasts designed to further my professional development. The latter is what this post is all about:
My favorite podcasts for my role as a music therapy professional:
1. The Urban Therapist
2. Music Therapy Round Table
3. On-the-Go Studio
4. Start a Therapy Practice
5. With Purpose
6. Music Therapy Research Blog Podcast
I’d love to hear some of YOUR favorite podcasts – professional or otherwise!!

Hey Rachel! I’ll give you my favorites. They aren’t music therapy-related, but they are great for spending time in the car 🙂
1. The Moth Podcast

2. Radiolab

3. Dirtbag Diaries

YAY! That’s what I’ve wanted – new podcasts!!
Confession: I’m slightly obsessed with Radiolab (and This American Life), but I’ve only heard a few episodes of the Moth and none of Dirtbag Diaries…I will FOR SURE add them to the list! Thanks, Chris!!
I had a feeling you already listened to This American Life, so I didn’t list it 🙂
Some day we need to meet up and nerd-out over Radiolab
Thanks for the mention in this list.
I am addicted to listening to podcasts but I have learned so much by doing so. Here are some that I like:
1. Solopreneur Hour Podcast
2. The Thomas Jefferson Hour
3. The Ultimate Entreprenuer
4. Dan Carlin’s Hardcore History
Lovely! I haven’t checked out any of these yet, so thanks for the recommendations!!
