Kickstarter (and PledgeMusic):

Two Crowdfunding Projects You Should Know About

Two amazing projects, Two great connections to music therapy

1. Everything Went Down – Inspired by Music Therapy

Watch the trailer in which the writer and director, Dustin Morrow, talks about Temple University’s music therapy program and how it was one of the inspirations for this film.

2. Ben Folds Five’s New Album: Supporting Music Therapy

From the band’s fundraising page on the PledgeMusic website:

Another note on the Pledgemusic target: Keeping the target modest and having hit 100 percent means that PledgeMusic begins to divert some of the income to our chosen charity. You all probably know I spend a bit of time sticking up for music education and music therapy – so we’ve been putting together a foundation or a fund for these causes. My team are all dedicated to this anyway, so we’ve got some effective and efficient ideas and will keep you abreast of that.

Ben will always have a special place in my heart after we (the “we” here is a collective music therapy “we” involving many wonderful music therapists) had several twitter “conversations” and emails, he drove from Nashville to Atlanta to attend the national music therapy conference (more gushing on that topic can be found HERE).

Additional information about the upcoming album can be found on Ben’s website, THIS post by another music therapist (and fellow Ben Fold’s fan), Jamie George:, and other various articles.

Post Script:

Another thing that comes to mind when I see the letter K is….KITS!  I’ve been having a blast creating monthly inspiration kits for music therapists (seriously, it is one of my favorite things to do on a Saturday night and I’m not afraid to admit it!).  Interested in learning more?  CLICK HERE
