As many of you know, I’m a huge Ben Folds fan.
I try to refrain from posting TOO many things about one of my favorite musicians, but after he came to our national music therapy conference a year ago, donated funds from his latest album sales to go towards music therapy and music education, AND said “Hi” to me from the stage at the Ben Folds Five concert in Austin…I just can’t help but gush!
What an amazing thing to have such a respectable, talented, famous musician support our work and our field – which, in turn, helps those who need music therapy gain access to services!
I used to be a Twitter-hater (a Twhater?), but once I jumped on the blue bird bandwagon, I soon realized what a powerful tool this social media mainstay truly was. For those of you who haven’t joined the Twitter party, perhaps this will cause you to become twitterpated: Ben Folds announced that he has chosen to follow MUSIC THERAPISTS this week on his twitter account!
The feeds of Twitter are alive with the sound of music therapists! Use the hashtag #FollowMTWeek to see the latest with regards to who is chatting it up with Mr. Folds.
