Click – Clack
We Texans love good BBQ, nice weather, and …
Cowboys!
This week marked Cowboy Week for many schools in the Austin area, as one of the big festivities (besides SXSW) happening in these parts is RODEO AUSTIN!
To celebrate, I used many country and folk tunes in my sessions. I even got to be a part of a cowboy day, with a fellow music therapist, at a school in the area – we had a rootin’ tootin’ good time!!
I wanted to share one of the songs that I have piggybacked off of an old cowboy tune (“Mule Train”) and turned into a song about locomotives in order to showcase the clatterpillar/kokiriko: an instrument that is perfect for working on coordination, motor skills, and upper body strength! AND it sounds like click-clacking of a train on the track!
